A frozen Soil Hill
Withens Gap from the hill
Suns last rays
There she goes.
One of the beauties of Soil Hill
A quick after work dash to Soil Hill thinking at least if theres no birds I,ll get a sunset, which I did.
The summits are still well frozen so very little sign of life up there other than 4 Skylarks, 3 Meadow Pipits and 2 Lapwings which looked settled for the night. On the wish list was roosting Golden Plover and a returning Snow Bunting or two but unfortunately it was a case of dream on.
The clear darkening skies were void of birds.
Several singing Skylarks were up at 0800hrs today according to hill resident Ken.
At least I got a good half hours unwind on the hill in cold but clear and calm conditions and where better to see the sun go down.
