Another grey and misty day up here in Queensbury though not near as dense as yesterday but the low cloud base put a stop to any sky watching at lunchtime.
The local House Sparrow numbers are now increasing after a drop in numbers over the winter and the males are displaying and re establishing their last years nest sites in that very noisy way that sparrows do.
Up to 4 singing Dunnocks are around the garden area and sing most of the day apart from when they are under the feeders cleaning up the mess that the sparrows leave behind.
Gulls are becoming noticeable by their absence now with only half a dozen Commons and little more Black Headeds around the park and rugby field.
An interesting report from a customer today of a Buzzard drifting >NW over the old station and Foxhill last Sunday at midday which coincides with a sighting I had over Foxhill 12 months to the day since again at midday. AC had one also last Monday at midday >NW over Northowram.
