Fly Flatts 70% frozen
Icy waters
Sun up
Saddo gunmen arriving
Chaffinchs at the Delvers
A bright clear morning with temps below zero and an icy cold N>3.
A beautiful day to be walking the moor but absolutely birdless around the reservoir with empty water and empty skies. Several Red Grouse had come across to the reservoir side after yesterdays scumbags had been shooting but now a new private club have permission to shoot on Sundays from the reservoir grounds parking at the Twite feeding station, looks like a new sunday birding venue is due.
Down at the Delvers things were livelier with around 30 Chaffinch, 4 Robins, 3 Blackbirds and several Blue and Gt Tits but no Brambling as yet.
Twelve Fieldfare flew overhead towards Soil Hill.
