Soil Hill, Ogden.

 Male Bullfinch in the Alders

                                    Female and Blue Tits

A full cloud morning on a light SSW>3 at 9 degrees and good visibility.
As I drove along the top of Ned Hill on the way to Ogden a single Black Redstart was in the same area as my yesterday sighting but by the time I had parked up it was away. The next 45 minutes was spent trudging around trying for another sighting but found nothing.
On then to Ogden with a check along the west bank which revealed 2 male and 1 female Bullfinch as well as several Blue Tits feeding in the Alders, whilst a small flock of 8 Siskin were mobile above the tree canopy but failed to drop down.
From the west bank, the water looked much quieter wth only 4 Teal seen and no sign of Wigeon or Tufted but they were possibly across in the NE corner. Other than that, just a few small gulls.
Driving back below Soil Hill, DJS had re-located the 2 Black Redstart and he and JL were watching them as well as a Stonechat. I walked towards the area they were in but inaccessible for me , having the 2 dogs with me so had to let that one go.
Another cloudy day tomorrow with chance of showers on a moderate southerly.
