4 Tufted present
Torrential rain to start the morning but soon turned dry with very dark clouds on a moderate SSW>4 at 8 degrees.
The first noticeable thing at Ogden was a clear out of Teal with only 4 found whilst 4 Tufted were still present along with the pair of Wigeon. A single Cormorant was also on the water with a few small gulls, 1 Herring and 1 LBB gull plus the usual Goosander.
The trees produced better with a flock of Siskin on the west bank and a smaller flock in the NE corner. The west bank Alders also held 6 Bullfinch and several Blue Tit but all very flighty with the strong wind blowing through the tree tops.
Around 40 Chaffinch were in the lodge house trees before heading off towards Stod Fold whilst a flock of around 30 Redwing headed >W but my view was partly obscured under the trees. This is my first winter thrush sighting this autumn and still no Fieldfare.
A few cars parked along the road below Soil Hill, undoubtably searching for Black Redstart.
A cloudy sunshine morning given for tomorrow with a wet start on a light WSW.
