If this is August, roll on winter. Fly Flatts

                                    As good as it got.

A drizzly start with a low cloud base on a W>3 at 12 degrees. By 0815 hrs the fog rolled in along with a mix of heavy drizzle then rain.
Just time for a dog walk to the SW corner to check the south shore and ponds before the the fog put the lights out and the rain came down. I stuck it out until 0930 hrs hoping for clearance or something dropping in on the near shore but no change so up stumps and home.
Just the original 2 Dunlin briefly as I arrived but soon disappeared into the fog with nothing else seen other than a single Wheatear and a couple of Mipits.
Looking like a write off tomorrow with heavy rain and gale force westerlies brightening p.m. but the winds look to continue through the week.
