Barn Owl, now a common sight.
4 Oystercatchers present
At least 3 Reed Buntings.
Pied Wagtail back in the compound.
A better morning for Fly Flatts with a low cloud base blanking the wind turbines and fog over the western ridge but mainly clear over the water with odd banks of mist passing through on a moderate SSW>4 at a very mild 10 degrees.
As always, far fewer birds here than Leeshaw but enough to keep me occupied for the duration of the watch. Three Barn Owls around the area, which seemed to have taken over from Short Eared which are now getting something of a rarity on the moor.
The usual noisy Canadas and Mallards on the water with several Canadas now established on the moor whilst 4 Oystercatchers are now present but no sign of the Ringed Plover, which I'm sure will still be around. A single Curlew was calling from the windfarm area but unseen up in the mist whilst 3 Reed Bunting and a Pied Wagtail were around the compound.
Another check on the Skylark field still failed to produce any returners as yet as well as Meadow Pipits.
Another wet forecast for tomorrow with showers on a light westerly.
