NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Fly Flatts.

Waiting for its mate, Ringed Plover
                                    Nearly out of camera reach.

                                Pair of Oystercatchers.

After a couple of early sleet and rain showers it was a clear, but cold ,windy morning with a WSW>4
at 2 degrees and full cloud.
The single male Ringed Plover has outstayed the snow and was on the east bank waiting for its mate to turn up which should be any day now. The pair of Oystercatchers were also on the east bank whilst a Curlew was seen and heard briefly by the wind turbines.
Quiet otherwise with the usual Mallards and Canadas as well as 3 Greylag on the water with a Barn Owl and Raven in the distance.
A check on the hotspot Skylark field near Nolstar found no returners as yet but several BH and Common gulls present.
A quick p.m. check on the Old Guy Road cricket pitch, another hot spot for early Skylark and Meadow Pipit, again found no early returners.
A similar day tomorrow but with a light sou'westerly.
