A poor start to February, Mixenden.

                                Very few gulls on Mixy
                                    1 of 8 Herring
                                Foxhill Common gulls
                                    1 CY Common

A strong W>6 on the tops with early fog and drizzle at 4 degrees. Mixenden was slightly more sheltered being clear and dry on a W>3 at a mild 5 degrees.
A reet poor do at Mixenden this morning with just 8 Herring gull and around 50 small gulls on the water and that was it. A full circuit of the water produced nothing along the west bank with the Alder trees void of bird life as well as the, usually active Holly bushes.
The long hedge held a few House Sparrow and a couple of Great Tits, other than that I was struggling.
Even the Foxhill Common gulls have let me down this year whereas by this time they are up to treble figures but my best count so far this winter has been 23.
Oh well, at least the daylight is lengthening so I,ve been able to start sorting the garden out after tea, that is dependent on the weather of course.
Talking of which, another strong westerly for tomorrow and chance of showers but still staying mild.
