A 2nd day of lock down with very heavy overnight snow and strong winds causing drifting.
Plenty shoveling to start the day just so I could get the dogs out into the back garden and get to the bird feeders in the front garden. Dog walking today was hard work having to carry the dogs passed the deepest drifts and stick mainly to the roads which were only just drivable, with no sign of anything in the way of ploughs or gritters. No chance of even getting the car out onto the road today but a bit more digging tomorrow may see it mobile again although birding wise there will be nowhere accessible till after the weekend.
A bright and sunny afternoon with some signs of thawing though the temperature soon plummeted as the sun went down with a forecast of minus 7 degrees tonight.
The garden feeders were very busy again today with the usual species whilst a poor little Wren was struggling in the back garden following me around as I was digging trying to find food. I crumbled up a fat ball which it immediately went to and spent some time feeding, returning to feed on it several times during the day.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better, even a shopping trip will be welcome, I,m like a caged bear when I,m stuck in the house.
