A snowy Queensbury
A foggy Foxhill
Confined to the office.
A far cry from walking the moors.
Time for some studying
Steady snow falling throughout the day with mist and fog on a light E>3 with gales, heavy snow and drifting throughout the night forecast.
The nearest I got to birding today was constantly clearing the snow from the feeders and thawing the bird bath. Visits from the usual Woodpigeons, House Sparrows, Starlings, Blackbirds, Dunnock,Robin and Blue Tits. Odd Goldfinch can visit from time to time but is very rare I get much in the way of exotic birds up here on the tops, although I had Waxwings a few years back when there was an influx into the area and the rarest bird was a Lesser Whitethroat but that was many years ago when they were in every hedge at EGP.
The local Sparrowhawk makes occasional visits but is never quick enough to get anything before Lynda opens the window and slings one of the dogs toys at it.
With wallpapering nearly finished now it looks like I,m going to have to get Lynda to find me some more jobs to last me over the weekend by the look of things.
