Ogden in the early morning mist.

                                    3 Goosander in the mist.

A misty start to the day at Ogden with constant drizzle on a light SW>2 at 5 degrees with thick fog up on the tops.
At last, a sign of wildfowl on the water with 1 male and 2 female Goosanders as well as 4 Canada geese and a Cormorant, plus the usual Mallards, well ,its a start ! Not a gull of any type on or over the water though fairly lively with small passerines which included Dipper, Kingfisher and Grey Wagtail in the sluice gate area whilst the west bank held the usual woodland species but good to get a Chiffchaff back which was very vocal near the Alders. This bird is just 2 days later than last years first returner and unusual to have no over-winter birds at this site this year.
Looking now like all the Pink Footed Geese have gone but there should still be plenty Whooper Swans passing through the area.
