Fly Flatts in the fog. (Permit only)

One from yesterday, pair Ringed Plover.

As good as it got today.

Poor end for a beautiful Barn Owl.

Dense fog with heavy drizzle on a SW>3 at 5 degrees.
Visibility down to about 50 yds this morning but a walk on the south and west bank failed to find the Brent geese unless they were up at the north end or out on the water but more likely they would have left last night before the fog drifted in.
Plenty noise from the Curlews and Greylags, along with Canada geese present plus a few Mallard.
The annual breeding pair of Pied Wagtails are back at last years nest whilst Meadow Pipit numbers are increasing along with a few Skylark.
A check of the east bank found the pair of Ringed Plovers and sadly a dead Barn Owl and Red Legged Partridge near together in the waters edge. Hopefully this is not avian flu.
