Ogden p.m.

A scattering of gulls on the west shore
                                          1 of 7 Herring gull
                                        Just 16 ad LBBs
                                       Around 40 Commons

Another morning not fit for purpose with near gale force SW>5 and heavy showers turning to continuous heavy rain until early p.m.
A break in the weather early afternoon got me off to Ogden for a low expectancy check on the gulls, but again, a low count with just 7 Herrings present along with the usual LBBs and small gulls, the majority of small gulls being Commons.
Nothing but the usual Gt Crested Grebe on the water, now in winter plumage, plus the usual Mallards and Tufted. A few Chaffinch were on the shore feeding on the weeds whilst a Heron and Kingfisher were in the sluice gate area.
Oh well, at least the dogs enjoyed it.
Looking good for tomorrow with a light westerly and dry before the strong winds reappear by Sunday. Hopefully the birds will take advantage of this clear window to move in.
