Ogden Ogden as the fog started to lift.
About as good as it got, Blackbird.
Always plenty Squirrels
FLY FLATTS 1 of 2 Raven.
Despite a good weather forecast for today promising a bright sunny and calm day, it was the usual story of when the wind drops the fog appears. Dense fog this morning on a very light SW>2 at minus 1 degree.
Due to the density of the fog I had to settle for Ogden which started off foggy but cleared mid way through the visit. A full circuit of the water just produced Robins, Blackbird, Great and Blue Tits with around 50 small gulls on the water. A Green Woodpecker was calling but remained unseen.
Strangely no sign of any winter tit flock which are usually present this time of year along with Goldcrest, Siskin, Redpoll, Treecreeper of Nuthatch, a real quiet visit.
With the wind increased, clearing the fog by mid afternoon a check on Fly Flatts was in order but this was another quiet, uneventful visit with no waders to be found.
Canada goose numbers are rapidly on the increase with 28 present along with 31 Mallard whilst 11 Black Headed gulls moved >NE and 2 Raven flew over the water.
An uneventful day spoilt by the fog but back now to a week of gales and rain which seems to improve the sightings.
