Match abandoned, snow !!!

                                            Queensbury snow.   Settling early morn.
                                               Fog creeping across Foxhill.
                                             Getting deep by mid morn
                                          By roads stopped now, midday
                                                   Main road, Bradford to Halifax
                                                      Village cenotaph .
                                                   Main road
                                                 Queensbury church

                                                    Very little traffic moving

                                                  Up towards Foxhill

Certainly not a day for a Queensbury birder today having escaped the gales, only to be grounded by snow. Fine snow from first light turning to flakes the size of half crowns by mid morning quickly settling and stopping traffic on the by roads and then everything at a standstill from midday.
The snow eventually stopped by late afternoon but starting to freeze after dark. Hard work dog walking today, although the dogs enjoyed it, even though the snow was nearly to their chins.
Back to a strong gale force wind tomorrow and heavy rain plus its going to be a while before we get rid of the snow up here. Looking like its going to be heading towards March before I get any serious birding in. I wonder how my Ringed Plover is coping up at Fly Flatts.
