Ogden /Doe Park

OGDEN                          As good as it got, a selection of Black Headed gulls

DOE PARK                                My first Oystercatcher of the year
Found a few days ago by MP
Didn,t seem to mind the wind nearly blowing it off the jetty.

Another very windy day with a moderate to strong S>5 gusting 6 at a very mild 11 degrees with dark clouds and drizzle.
Ogden was terrible with more people than birds even at 0800 hrs so I made an early dash out of there chalking up just 23 BHGs and 5 Commons plus the usual Mallards etc.
Doe Park was very blustery over the dam wall but good to get the first Oystercatcher of the year which was nearly getting blown off the jetty but didnt seem to mind. It was good to see it doing the cross over leg sideways walk as they do on a windy estuary. I thought of videoing it but couldnt hold the camera steady looking into the wind.
A pair of Goosander were also on the water as well as a few Mallard and 2 fly over Herring gulls. A couple of walkers said they had just flushed a Tawny Owl as they walked through the wood.
