Poor vis mig but Osprey for Queensbury

A bright sunny morning with clear blue skies made it a very poor morning for vis mig with just a few Mipits >S and 2 Skylark, also >S.
Then things fired off with a call at 1053 hrs from CK reporting an Osprey passing the Oxenhope watch point and heading >S towards Ogden.
With a quick few phone calls and a grapevine message sent out DJS was in position at Hunter Hill and JL was watching from Oats Royd where both positions would have picked up the bird had it kept heading south.
Unfortunately this Osprey hadn,t read the text books and decided to veer direct east from Ogden taking it across the Causeway Foot col, over Coal Lane and off >E over Soil Hill.
This was a good move for 2 lucky birders, NK and  DP who were on Coal Lane at the time and got the Osprey over their heads where NK got some shots of the bird , see Nigels blog,
Many thanks for the fast action phone call from CK and the team at Oxenhope for picking it up, Hawkeye Creber, HC, was once again the man to get it in his scope first, this man can pick up a Bumble Bee flying over Malham Cove, nice one Compo.

Reports are now coming in from several inland watch points of Pink Footed Geese on the move, watch those skies.
