Leeshaw Reservoir

                                        2 Pink Footed Geese present

                                    Several Lapwings moved on
                                    4 LBB gull present

                                    Single Redshank
                                    Oystercatcher numbers well down now.

                                    Several Curlew.

An icy cold start to the morning at Leeshaw with a moderate NW>4 at 3 degrees and full cloud. By 0915 hrs the sky partially cleared letting the sun through.
A steady morning in the cold wind with just 8 Herring gull along with 4 LBB, so still left hoping for Little gull which are now on the move but not peaking until May.
Only 6 Oystercatchers showing this morning and a single Redshank but several Curlews. The bulk of the Lapwings have moved out of the area after the early farming disturbance, as they were starting to breed, with only a few left in the fields but several displaying over the moor.
At least 2 Pink Footed geese still present from over the winter and looking like this may turn out to be a species that starts to breed locally with several areas reporting them in with Greylags, a Kestrel was busy harassing the Meadow Pipits.
An Osprey >N over Elton reservoir, Manchester this morning will have crossed over this area.
A similar weather forecast for tomorrow with a slightly lighter easterly wind but starting off at 2 degrees.
