Cold, windy and wet Leeshaw reservoir.

                                    6 Oystercatchers present

                                    Good turnout of LBB gulls

A windy wet morning at Leeshaw but luckily the overnight fog and heavy rain had cleared by 0600 hrs leaving it clear on a cold SE>4 at 4 degrees with drizzle throughout.
Ideal reservoir watching conditions at last bringing gulls through with around 30 LBBs dropping on the water or shore briefly before moving off >W. A couple of small gulls flew in fast and low over the water getting the adrenaline going for Little Gull but were only Black Headed, even these being a rare sight here over the last couple of weeks.
Redshanks, Oystercatchers, Curlews and Lapwings were very active moving around between the fields and shore whilst 12 Chaffinch moving through were unusual along with a few Meadow Pipits.
Otherwise just down to the usual species even though the conditions seemed ideal for a passing Tern, Wader or Osprey although the latter seem to always pass through this area later in the day.
A brighter day tomorrow with cloudy sunshine on a light sou'westerly but starting off at a cool 3 degrees.
