Back to Leeshaw reservoir

                                    1 of 2 Little Owl

                                The long staying Pinkies

A bright and breezy morning at Leeshaw with some cloud but plenty sunshine on a cold WSW>4 increasing SW>5 at 5 degrees.
A steady watch this morning with no sign of yesterdays Dunlin and still awaiting Common Sandpiper at this site. Wader-wise, just 3 Redshank, 6 Oystercatcher as well as Curlews and Lapwings.
Just a single LBB gull >W and several Swallows all >E. A few more small passerines with a pair of Pied Wagtail and a single Grey Wagtail along with 3 Goldfinch and a few Meadow Pipits. On the journey home, at least 10 Fieldfare were in the ploughed field opposite Keelham Farm Shop. A fairly late record but I have had them up to the 25th April in the past. A noticeable lack of sightings of Redwing this winter with very few seen in the usually hectic Hawthorn bushes at Leeshaw.
A cloudier day tomorrow which chance of some light rain but a slightly higher temperature. Conflicting reports of the wind with one forecast giving a moderate NE and the other giving a light E so its a wait and see job.
