Up in the clouds, Fly Flatts/ Raggalds Flood.

                                First light over Queensbury.
                                    Stormy looking sky.

                                    Rapidly faded and clouded over.

Fly Flatts early morn started off well with full cloud on a light SW>2 at 2 degrees but by the time I,d walked the west bank the thick clag was coming across the moor from the SW bringing heavy drizzle and a low cloud base. By 0915 hrs the fog was coming in thick and by 0930 hrs it was lights out with dense fog and rain.
Needless to say, birding was not good with just a pair of Mallard on the water , a single Reed Bunting in the compound and several Red Grouse on the moor.
Around 50 small gulls in the Crossroads field as well as a few Fieldfare.
A look at a misty Raggalds Flood on the way home found 1 female Teal, 2 pr Mallard,
32 Lapwing and a few small gulls.
A moderate sou'wester for tomorrow but not showing rain, I,ll believe that when I see it.
