Scoping through the gulls, Leeshaw

A scarce gull at the moment, Lesser Black Backed.
                                    No shortage of small gulls
                                    Several Herring through

                                    1cy Herring
                                    Plenty Fieldfare in the fields

                                    along with Redwing.
                                  Gulls in the slurry field.

Sunshine and showers at Leeshaw this morning with a mix of clear bright sky and some heavy short showers. A moderate W>4 was blowing in at 3 degrees.
Other than several Redwing and Fieldfare plus all the usuals, this morning was all about gulls with, as usual in a westerly, gulls were piling through all into the wind. Around 500 small gulls were present in the surrounding fields along with a few Herring whilst around another 300 small gulls and 38 Herring continued straight through >W, some settling on the water briefly.
A single adult LBB headed through >W which is an unusual sight for my venues lately looking like the majority have moved lower down to the south. Great Black Backed gull is another scarcity with me having only one sighting so far this winter,
With hopes of history repeating itself this year an Iceland gull was around Ogden this time last year from the 13th to the 17th so one to look out for although we need a big drop in temperature to boost the Caspian, Mediterranean and Iceland gull sightings.
Near gale force southerly and heavy rain for tomorrow, just for a change !!!!
