LEESHAW A first light glance of sun before being extinguished.
Common gull in the cloudy sky. 2cy
2 of 8 Herring gull
Very few gulls today.
Herring
OGDEN As good as it got, several Coal Tit
First light at Leeshaw and the sun just starting to rise over the hill but quickly blanked out with dark clouds moving in from the south on a SW>4 bringing drizzle most of the watch at 4 degrees.
The majority of the action this morning was once again Fieldfare, Starling, Redwing and Mistle Thrush working the fields but very mobile.
Very few gulls with around 50 mixed Common and Black Headed but an improvement of Herrings with 8 present but no Lesser Black Backed.
Again, only Mallard on the water as well as a single Cormorant and still no Goosander present since the end of the year. Otherwise down to the usual species with plenty corvids plus Woodpigs and Stock Doves.
Good to bump into BV at the reservoir. Brian covers a much greater area than me and even he is struggling to come up with the goods.
Most of the gull fields on the way home were void of gulls whilst Raggalds Flood just held 1 pair of Mallard and a few small gulls with no sign of the Lapwing flock.
Ogden, mid p.m., left plenty to be desired with around 80 small gulls and Mallard on the water whilst the west bank only produced several Coal Tit and 1 Great Tit.
Tomorrows forecast is..... you guessed it, wet and windy.
