An hour at Ogden, p.m.

Dipper way down in the sluice gate

Grey Wagtail on the promenade banking.

0800 hrs this morning and still black as night with a strong SW>5 and heavy rain so duffed out on the morning session other than a very wet dog walk.
A brighter mid afternoon so headed to Ogden with an hour to spare. Not one of my better ideas for a sunny Saturday afternoon when I found the car park heaving and just managed to get a space up on the top deck in the drug dealing area but very frustrating getting back out again.
The west bank was void of birds which was understandable with the amount of public disturbance whilst the water held around 100 small gulls and just 2 Herring plus the usual Mallards.
Back on the promenade a Dipper was down in the bottom of the sluice gate and a Grey Wagtail was working its way along the banking and after that it was get me out of here. It was worse than a Wakes weekend at Blackpools pleasure beach.
