Ogden 2 - Fly Flatts 0.

OGDEN                            Sad to see 2 LBB gull taking their last breath.
                                          Both still alive, just.
Just 1 Green Sandpiper found today.

Very mobile and distant around the shoreline.

A cool wet morning at Fly Flatts with full cloud on a moderate NE>4 at 12 degrees with light rain showers.
Another of those very quiet mornings with just 3 decent sightings of,  3 Curlew >NE, 1 adult Ringed Plover on the north mud plus an overnight fall of 17 Wheatear on the near shore, all adults in autumn plumage. Otherwise, the sky and water was void of birds other than a few BH gull and several Meadow Pipits.
Ogden today went 2-0 up on bird sightings with 2 poor days at Fly Flatts and a second good day at Ogden with a single Green Sandpiper moving around the shoreline. Probably one of yesterdays birds or possibly another bird as it is unusual for Green Sandpipers to stay overnight in this area.
Several off lead dogs and versions of the Dingle family were on the shore by the waters edge, hence no gulls on the west bank other than a sorry sight to see 2 LBBs looking in a bad way. My first thought was a dog attack but when I reported it to Judy Hogg she said that bird flu was causing her problems at the moment. Judys husband arrived at the site just as I was leaving.
The usual Black Headed gulls were on the east shore with just a handful of LBBs and Commons in with them.
