A good mornings birding despite the heat.

                                                3 Ringed Plover

                                                  juv Little Ringed Plover
3 Ringed Plover, 1 Greenshank in the heat haze.

Chance in a million to get 3 RPs photo bombing a Greenshank.

                                              Another star prize Red Kite.

Another nasty hot sunny morning but eased slightly with a fresh E>2 at 16 degrees.
A good gull day with around 200 gulls present on the water and north shore.
A scope through failed to find anything special but as they blasted off a noisy Greenshank went up with them spiraling very high and away out of sight >SW, the same direction as the gulls but leaving several Black Headed on the water. A scope from the far end of the west bank failed to find any more waders but around 8 Wheatear were counted on the way back to the south end.
A later scope of the north end found 3 small waders on the waters edge so a dash through the compound to get a closer but distant view produced 3 Ringed Plover as well as yesterdays Little Ringed Plover and another Greenshank all near together feeding on the waters edge.
A few distant photos in the heat shimmer with a chance in a million shot to get the 3 RPs and Greenshank in one frame.
Tackling up back at the car and a large raptor came into view making me think Osprey but when I got it in the bins , Red Kite, which flew over the water >NE.
