Leeshaw/ Bank Top C.P.

LEESHAW                         Several Herring gulls through

                                          Around 500 small gulls

Flock of 24 Meadow Pipits newly arrived

                                                         4 Pied Wagtail

                                                         Mipits.

BANK TOP C.P.                               Few Herring gulls plus small gulls.

                                                Single Heron
                                          Usual pair of Mute Swan
One of Judy Hoggs leg rings.

A pleasant day with full light cloud on a light W>2 at 4 degrees
Leeshaw was a little more active this morning with a good show of around 500 small gulls both on the water and in nearby fields in a scope-able position though nothing in the way of Med gulls which seem to be very scare this winter. Herring gulls were slowly moving >W briefly stopping off on the water before moving on again.
A group of Meadow Pipits were new arrivals along with 4 Pied Wagtails whilst the only geese were 2 Canadas on the water.
Very litle time in the afternoon with being volunteered for the school run which meant going through the dreaded Sowerby Bridge to Ripponden so a quick check on Bank Top C.P. to see what gulls were present.
More Herrings than expected plus around 100 small gulls and otherwise just the usual Mute Swans, Coot, Moorhen Mallards etc.
Judy Hoggs Y200 Mute Swan was present as always but the second swan just had a steel ring on its right leg with the left leg ring missing. This is probably Y695 which was put to pair up with Y200 by Judy when the last swan and cygnets were killed by scumbags at this site.
