Leeshaw Reservoir.

Leeshaw Reservoir                          Cormorants heading >W

                                                     Very few Woodpigeons >SE
                                                    Distant Teal
                                                     1 of 6 Snipe
Good numbers of Starlings morn and aft.

LBB and BH gulls on the water.

Fog on the tops throughout the day so a double trip to Leeshaw below the cloud base.
A dry start but soon deteriorated with the scud clouds thickening bringing drizzle over in the SW>3 at a mild 8 degrees. By 0915 hrs a very deep front moved across bringing heavy rain and fog but within 20 minutes it had passed over bringing good visibility and just light drizzle.
Mid afternoon was dry and bright on a SW>4.
Starlings were coming through in small squadrons but not on the scale of yesterdays move and still passing through mid afternoon but several not counted with plenty more activity to watch. A single Teal was present whilst 3 flew over high and >E and a single Wigeon was on the water p.m. This makes 111 Wigeon I,ve had on 3 local waters this autumn.
2 Snipe were present with another 4 over >SW as well as 4 Cormorant >W.
LBB, Herring, Common and BH gulls were on the shore but all spooked by a Sparrowhawk which flew through flushing 10 Mipits on the south shore.
Good to have an extra pair of eyes today with BV present both morning and afternoon.
