A real wintry scene at Fly Flatts this morning with heavy snow showers moving through at
2 degrees on a NE>4. At one point the area was white over but this soon cleared. It seemed odd to watch a good number of Swallows moving >N in the snow.
                                            Several of yesterdays waders had moved on, and who could blame them, leaving just small numbers of Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Redshank and Common Sandpiper.
                                          Just a few gulls present and the Barnacle had finally gone, probably back to Cold Edge Dams.
With the lifting of some restrictions for Wednesday it looks like local birding will be back in full swing.
