A quieter morning at Fly Flatts. (no public access)

                                          Plenty gulls in the area

Redshank doesnt seem bothered with the gulls.
Greylags showing off their brood to the gulls
At least 10 Common Sandpipers present now.

Fly Flatts early a.m. with a W>4 with 90% cloud at 7 degrees but feeling much colder.
Another hatch of Canadas appeared today with 7 goslings out on the water along with the 2 from yesterday and the 6 Greylag goslings which was surprising with around 200 big gulls present, mainly Herrings.
No sign of any Dunlins today with just Redshank, Ringed Plover and Common Sandpiper. Very quiet skies, other than gulls reeling about, and no hirundines or Swifts.
No workmen today so a full walk of the west banking to the NW corner but the northern end of the reservoir is just dried up mud and no use for holding birds. Below the west bank by the feeding area just held Mipits with no Wheatears showing, a poor season up there for Wheatear so far.
An unusual sighting over the garden this afternoon with three 2 cy Common gulls
having full white bodies and heads with dark brown upper wings. An odd time of year for Common gulls in this area.
