A cooler day at Fly Flatts, (no public access)

                                       More Dunlin pics.

                               Lapwing and chick
                                                                      Redshank
Best I could muster 1 of 2 Redshank chicks in the
      afternoon heat distortion.

A better day with 80% cloud and a WSW>4 at 12 degrees in the morning then spoilt in the afternoon with full sun at 16 degrees but a stronger W>5.
An average day with the same species waders but nice to find 2 Redshank chicks well hidden around the ponds. 80 + big gulls were present whilst 4 Cormorant flew over high and >NE above the Nab. No sign of Wheatears today
A survey of the bird breeding situation today by Bentleys ornithologist Kim whom I am meeting up there in the morning to suss out the situation with thoughts of allowing some water back in to the reservoir, that is if it ever rains. It will be nice to meet Kim again who has been involved with this project from the start with the birds welfare in mind.
Thanks to Daniel B for informing me that he had a Gropper up at Fly Flatts this morning below the road. I had a bit of a look and listen this p.m. but failed to re locate it.
