Steady morning at Fly Flatts and a bonus bird for Queensbury

FLY FLATTS    Not easy finding small waders in this expanse.

As near as you can get to the waters edge,
The shore is too soft to walk on.

                                                Bottom of the launching pad.

                  Nice Queensbury bird, Red Kite.
disappointing pics  as bird in the sun.

Mobbed as it moved off >SW
                                               Very high Sparrowhawk.

Decent conditions at Fly Flatts this morning with a NE>3 and 90% cloud at 9 degrees.
The sky was very milky after a night of thick fog.
Things were much quieter this morning with another wave of  Dunlins moved through with none to be found after yesterdays count of 9.
Common Sandpipers are the dominant bird at the moment whilst only 1 Redshank and 1 Ringed Plover were showing and no Gulls or Wheatear present.
The only new sighting was a single Cormorant >S, not a common bird for this site, plus 2 Reed Buntings were in the boatyard.
Its strange how things work out with birding. I came home late morning with an empty camera, other than a few views, then by mid afternoon I,d fired off 110 shots as a Red Kite came over Foxhill later followed by a Sparrowhawk and several Swallows.
The Kite flew from the Mountain to pass over Foxhill School and Foxhill Park to head off over our house >SW towards the Calder Valley.
The images were disappointingly washed out with the bird coming over at 180 degrees to sun angle putting the bird between me and the sun but a nice bird to get for Foxhill.
