The June lull hits Fly Flatts. a.m./p.m.

                                              1of 2 Ringed Plover

                                        Plenty Common Sandpipers present
Wall to wall gulls on the NE shore.
                                             Return of the Dunlins.

A poor day today with a morning of blue skies and sunshine, which did,nt help , and even the hopes of rain in the afternoon let me down with a couple of half hearted showers and that was it.
Fly Flatts seems to have hit the usual June lull at the moment and it may be a wait until July before another special wader appears but, who knows, anything can happen.
On the plus side 9 Dunlins had appeared after drawing a blank yesterday afternoon whilst 2 Ringed Plover were moving between the south and east shore.
Plenty Redshanks and Common Sandpipers  as well as the usual gulls with around 300 on the east shore carefully checked through this morning with nothing standing out as unusual. No Yellow Legged out of the 35 Herrings checked , the main of these being first year birds.
The other 265 ish all had yellow legs being LBBs, I tell a lie, some of the LBBs still had their juv pink legs just to confuse the job.
Plenty Swifts feeding over the water p.m. whilst a Grey Wagtail was on the shoreline much to the displeasure of a pair of breeding Pieds.
June is always noted as being the quietest month in the birding year but looking back at the last couple of years I,ve had Dunlin all month , 1 Sanderling and Common Scoters so its just a matter of waiting and watching to see what appears.
Good to see JM and AT up at Fly Flatts this morning giving it the once over.
