NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Fighting with the mist. Fly Flatts a.m/p.m.

                                 South shore in the mist
                                                 SE ponds
Water level rising, these buoys were ashore 2 days ago
                                                      south shore

                                           SW corner

                                       Lonely Ringed Plover.

A day of rolling mist and drizzle throughout the day with heavy drizzle on this mornings watch with a NE>5, then a dry late afternoon watch with a NE>3. Both watches were marred by fog with banks rolling through though the south shore was always workable and kept visibility whilst the east banking had to be quickly scoped between the fog banks. No sky or moorland visibility throughout.
Common Sandpipers were the bird of the day with up to 9 birds scurrying around the mud along with 2 Redshank whilst a pair of Pied Wagtails were taking food for their young.
Only 3 Dunlin found today and the long staying Ringed Plover but a bonus with a pair of Teal flushed from the lagoon flying over the water to land in the NW corner. A record count of over 500 big gulls were on the NE and N shorelines being, 75% LBB and 25% Herring but too misty to check through them
The dried out lagoon is now full to the brim and water is gushing into the reservoir at both the north and south ends bringing the water level up about 8ft on the south banking the last 2 days even though it is still being drained and the SE corner ponds are brimming again.
