Its going to be a long hard January at Fly Flatts.

An improving morning as the watch went on.

First light at Fly Flatts found heavy drizzle and fog banks rolling across the moor with a low cloud base and light NW>3 with still plenty ice around. These conditions soon improved  even showing some sunshine before I left.
If birding doesnt improve soon up here its going to be a long hard January into February waiting for things to kick off  but I,ll keep chipping away at it working on the law of averages where I must be due for a decent sighting soon.

1 Robin
2 Stonechat
19 Mallard
1 Raven
2 Carrion Crow
14 Golden Plover briefly disturbed by a helicopter over the fFlat moor
1 Heron over the Nab, rare bird for the uolands this time of year.
