NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

A dummy run to Fly Flatts, pm.

1430 hrs and a run to Fly Flatts to see if it was accepting guests as yet but the answer was no.
The track down to the water is impassable being snow covered and frozen over solid with sheet ice and the track at the northern end had off road vehicles down there playing in the snow.
After a scan of an empty water it was a quick check round on the way back with Whooper swan in mind but none at Cold Edge Dams, Mixenden or Ogden.
Cold Edge held 13 Mallard, 1female Goosander and a few small gulls plus 128 Canadas in the usual field.
Mixenden had the usual pair of Goldeneye , single female Goosander , 2 Moorhen and several small gulls whilst Ogden just had the usual Mallards, small gulls and 1 LBB gull.
With Fly Flatts looking to be out of the running for a few days, unless we get a drastic thaw, I,ll have to sort out some new temporary locations .
