Sorry, more Common Sandpipers
Freshwater shrimps for tea
1500 hrs Fly Flatts. Much less breeze today though still blowing well with a SW>5 at 19 mph as opposed to yesterdays W>7 at 36.9 mph. Full cloud cover today but bright with light specs of rain.
Much quieter than yesterday with just a trickle of Herring gulls >SW otherwise quiet skies but for a couple of Curlew and a Kestrel.
No relocation of yesterdays Whinchat but 6 male Wheatear present around the feeding station.
The sunflower seed attracted 5 male Reed Buntings and several Mipits along with 3 very mobile male Pied Wagtails.
Wader wise there were 9 Common Sandpipers , which Im sure you,ll soon get sick of photos of them, 3 Redshank and 1 Oystercatcher. Interesting to watch a Common Sandpiper plucking what looked to be fresh water shrimps out of the water.
A single Swallow over the water was the height of the hirundine spring movement with still no Martins or Swift.
Nothing in the Nolstar fields except sheep and turnips which the sheep don,t seem interested in eating.
