1430 hrs on a cloudy but light afternoon which calm conditions.
First stop was Lower Laithe where 3 Oystercatchers were back and a check of the Upper Marsh field produced 10 distant Golden Plover and several Lapwing holding territory.
On then to Leeshaw where the whole area was buzzing and alive with spring time.
Oystercatchers were noisily flying around the fields and the water whilst around 150 Lapwings were in the fields along with c 50 Starling and 15 Golden Plover all very mobile due to the presence of a Sparrowhawk.
Herring gulls were piling over with a count of at least 200 >W along with a few Lesser Black Backed, some settling on the water before moving off again.
A Curlew called as it flew low over the moor just giving me time to see it before it dropped down into a field out of sight.
An amazing 2 hours birding.
