Dropping down the hill to get out of the dense fog up in, one floor below heaven, brought me to Mixenden reservoir which was just below the cloud base with the fog stopping half way down Hunter Hill. The drizzle was light on a SW>3-4 hardly rippling the water but the sky was very dark.
The usual pair of Goldeneye were still present though hard to find. Its amazing how these small ducks can disappear and re appear on the water, you can scan and scan with nothing then suddenly there they are before disappearing again. This pair like to skulk under the west banking.
About 60 small gulls were on the east banking and water along with 2 Herring gulls, one first winter and 1 2nd CY. Cormorants seem to have latched on to this reservoir with 5 present again after the well stocked supply of Roach.
Other than that just 2 Canadas and a few Woodpigs over with no passerines in the wood although the long hedge is regrowing well and should hold birds this year when the leaves appear.
Hopefully this fog will shift for the morning.
