Leeshaw/Fly Flatts

A treat at Leeshaw with 14 Teal

                                 All juvs and females

                             juv Stonechat, Nab Water Lane.

1520 hrs at Leeshaw with bright skies,20 % cloud cover and W>4..
BV was present and had just clocked 14 Teal flushed from under the near banking by workmen that are doing repairs to the reservoir. The birds had dropped down out of sight but after about 15 minutes wait they started whistling then did a quick low fly past up to the west end of the water and away low over the moor >W.
Otherwise thing were quiet with just 6 BH gulls, 2 Oystercatchers and the usual sp.
On then to Fly Flatts to check the Chat situation at Nab Water Lane where several Stonechat were present, mainly juvs along with 2 Whinchat but all at great distance.
Only time left now to check Fly Flatts from the top road with nothing on the water and just a handful of BH gulls on the shoreline. A count of 6 Wheatear were above the boathouse plus the usual Canadas . Around 40 left now but no sign of the 2 Barnacles and Bar headed at either Leeshaw or Fly Flatts.
On the way back to base 8 Golden Plover flew across the road from the Dotteral field and around 80 Lapwings were present above the Shay, Soil Hill.
