This Telecom engineer gave me a rude awakening going
to work.
How did he get up there thought I
Till I got near enough to see it was part of Queensburys
Scarecrow competition.
Midday today , just ahead of the usual lunchtime rain, Swifts were piling over the village >S with at least 100 birds head down in migration mode. My last Swift report for 2014 was 18 over Soil Hill on the 24th August but this year they seem to be off earlier with thousands already crossed the east coast line.
Otherwise today it was down to gulls on the move with LBBs showing throughout the day mainly >W along with a few BH gulls.
