Queensbury Today

A hectic day and an evening at Shelf Moor so very little time for birding plus dinner time was a wash out with torrential rain throughout.
During the worst of the rain whilst I was having my dinner 2 Squirrels shot along the fence and headed for cover under the trees, not a common sighting for this location.
Goldfinch seem to be everywhere around the village at the moment whilst Blue Tits are scarce with a poor breeding year for them.
Down at Shelf Moor this evening good numbers of Swift were coming over >S along with a few Swallows whilst the nightly small flock of Canadas came over to the roost field.
A detour around Green Lane on the way there and back just found the usual corvids but unusual to see a flock of House Sparrows feeding on seed tops opposite the trailer park field, must check them out for any Tree Sparrows.
