Red Kite Day for Queensbury

Walking back to work at 1300hrs a Red Kite came over Chapel Lane amazingly high and gliding fast coming from the west and heading east towards Yeadon and probably Harewood.
Within a minute it was out of sight without doing a flap of its wings giving me no chance at all of getting the camera on it.
At 1330 hrs I got two text messages, one from DB via the grapevine , the other from JL, both reporting a Red Kite, obviously a different bird to mine , over Soil Hill. I was out in the car park hoping for it to head my way but DB reported it leaving the area >NE.

A quick Scoter check at Ogden on the way to Shelf moor tonight just produced 11 Black Headed gulls + the usual sp.
On the way home at 2015hrs tonight a scan over Swalesmoor and beyond from Corporal Hill produced a Buzzard , again very high and distant to the west.
