Soil Hill Summit Skywatch. p.m.

                                  Steady flow of LBB gulls>W

                 Several Skylarks up singing.

                                          Swifts piling through
                     12 feral pigeons present

                      Flock of 15 Linnet

With clear blue skies and good visibility I headed for Soil Hill at 1600 hrs for 1 hours sky watch mainly to check the gull situation now that the gull season is getting near and come next month will be back to normal..
A heat haze on the horizon stopped me seeing the Humber Bridge but visibility was well beyond Selby to the SE and Malham Cove stood out in the sunshine to the N.

Nothing special over but enough to keep me on my toes for the full hour and making me reluctant to leave but had to get back to reality.

LBB gulls were moving >W throughout but no Black Headed , Commons or Herring today.
Swifts were piling through constantly along with a few House Martins but no Swallows.
A Raven was cronking briefly over by the sacrifice stones whilst a Buzzard moved >N way beyond Fly Flatts.  A second Buzzard was high over Ilkley and I scoped it >N until it disappeared in the clouds over Malham Cove.
2 Moorhen were on the NK pond whilst a flock of 15 Linnets is on the build.
An amazing hour but hard working scanning 360 degrees, roll on autumn vis mig.
