Nice to start getting returning Black Headed gulls
1st summer bird.
Full team out tonight, fair weather birder Lynda.
She was,nt sad really, she,s just conscious of looking
at the camera.
Calm waters
A check of Ogden this evening found 3 returning BH gulls, all 1st summers whilst a steady flow of LBBs went high overhead >W.
Plenty Swifts and Swallows over the water and a higher number of Chaffinch than usual near the info centre.
The water held 6 Canadas, 1 m Tufted and the usual Mallards whilst a Heron stood in the edges in the NE corner. The water level is going down well now and should soon be showing some banking.
A local dog walker told me that he had been watching a Red Kite soaring above him over Eldwick this afternoon, this would have been visible from Soil Hill.

NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.
