With Foxhill enveloped in thick fog all day it was down to Ogden late afternoon which fortunately was lying just below the cloud base in calm conditions and heavy drizzle. Just right for Terns and Waders, especially with the expanding shoreline but neither appeared.
Managed my first singing Blackcap of the year although it did,nt think it was worth venturing out of the foliage in the rain just to have its photo taken so it kept giving fleeting glimpses from deep inside the mature tree it was in.
A few Willow Warblers were around along with Wrens and Robins, some juvs, whilst a noise Jay posed for a few seconds.
A pair of Nuthatch were around the feeders whilst a second pair were gathering food near the shale inlet at the northern end.
The water was deserted apart from a single Heron and the usual Mallards and Canadas with no sign of the Tufted.
Several Mallards are again with young, hopefully some of these will survive this time.
