Tour de Soil Hill, p.m. visit

                  Choppers filled the skies
    Paparazzi in the air
                            LBB passing the mast
            Old plane over, Dakota .

            Headed back towards Lincolnshire
                                   LBBs heading for Oxenhope

A late afternoon check of Soil Hill summits and a bit of sky watching proven quiet  as expected in the clear hot weather.
The hill itself is too overgrown now to attract waders even though there are a couple of scrapes holding water, the only birds present were 2 Mallard, 5 Skylark and a cock Pheasant.
LBB gulls were constantly moving over heading for a pre roost meeting at Oxenhope whilst good numbers of Swifts moved >S.
An old Dakota, I think, correct me if I,m wrong as its a lot of years since I visited the Church Fenton air show annually., went over and headed off towards Lincolnshire.
An amazing sight from up there was the number of cars parked at Fly Flatts and Long Causeway and the volume of people walking across the moor from Oxenhope down the Withens track, Back Lane, and down the hillside from the Nab. Crowds of people had been watching from up at the sacrifice stones.
Wish we could get as many birders out looking .
At least next weekend,s back to normal, no we just need to get rid of this heatwave.
Don,t know why Lynda calls me Victor Meldrew.

Several have mentioned that I have,nt reported on Lynda for a while, thats just because she,s going on steady and hospital visits etc are down to every 6 weeks now so its just a long steady road now trying to get her eating enough to have the feed tube removed which is a bit of a problem, there only so much custard or porridge she can take, other things just wont go down.
Thanks for all you,re concern.
