With a hope to bring back post breeding Twite to Fly Flatts after an absence of 12 months now I have started up the feeding station there in the same area putting Nyger seed down on each visit.
With limited birding time at the moment it would be a big help if anyone gets up there birding to take a pocket full of seed with them to throw down.
Small bags can be bought cheap enough at Wilkinsons stores.
DJS is also going to take seed when he can get up there, thanks for that Dave.
It would be a shame to lose Twite at Fly Flatts when only a few years ago we had regular flocks of around 30 birds with occasional higher counts.
With the south end being closed off now there is much less disturbance so hopefully we will be able to put Fly Flatts back on the Twite location map and with wader time coming its well worth a visit anyway.
All quiet today with the hot blue stuff back stopping the job other than a few LBBs this evening >E towards Eccup reservoir, and my phone has been silent all day meaning nothing exciting,s been around.
