I am based at Queensbury and bird a patch within a 10 mile range of home incorporating 16 stretches of water, several plantations, a belt of woodland, stretches of river and canal and good areas of moorland. Ogden evening visit

Breeding success, juv Grey Wagtail

This juv Gt Crested Grebe seemed happy amongst the gulls

Plenty Robins with juvs

Long Tailed Tits moving back in.

A perfect evening with grey skies and some dark rain clouds with a WNW>5 so it was off to Ogden to check the situation.
Swallows and Swifts were piling through all >SW and >S with a few House Martins in with them whilst good numbers of BH gulls lined the shore along with just 2 Common gulls
Several LBBs went overhead all >NW, whilst the juv Gt Crested Grebe seemed well settled in with the Black Headed gulls
Passerine Alley is starting to liven up with several Long Tailed Tits, 3 Goldcrests and a single Chiffchaff.
A first smell of autumn this evening.
